Students entering the 9th-12th grades may apply for the Museum of Science & History’s Teen Intern Program.Each year, about 70 students are selected to commit 100 hours annually working in the museum and learning about careers in natural science, physical science, astronomy, education and customer service.Teen Interns assist museum staff with day camps, care for specimens in the live animal collection, conduct science demonstrations and provide support at the customer service desk and in the museum store.They also learn about teamwork, responsibility and leadership, said Kristi Taylor, MOSH spokeswoman.“One of our former directors of development worked at the museum as a teen intern one summer,” she said.Candidates are evaluated based on their level of maturity, their desire to work and enthusiasm.
