The Northeast Florida Builders Association’s Sales and Marketing Council held its second SAM Tram this year to visit models of condominiums, single-family attached and single-family homes in the Southside area, including the J. Turner Butler Boulevard corridor.
“We decided to showcase the JTB and Southside area because of all the new construction going on up and down the JTB corridor,” said event chairman Sam Morgan of Lifestyles Realtors. “It’s incredible, all of the development and construction going on in the area. We had about 27 people attend. We decided to make this a free event because SMC is trying to offer more things to their members and nonmembers to promote membership and to give back to the people who’ve given to us.”
The first model the tour visited was KB Homes’ Villages of Summer Lakes off of Atlantic Boulevard. There were three single-family attached model homes which start at $170,000.
Next the group traveled to Southside to visit Beazer Homes’ Deerwood Place, a condominium community that starts in the mid $200,000s.
Deerfoot Point, another condominium community, featured two models: the Nightingale and Starling. There are three condominiums per building and there will be 31 buildings when the project is complete. They start at $180,000 and go up to the mid-$200,000s.
Next on the agenda was Centex Homes’ Pottsburg Crossing development. There will be 110 total units and prices range from the $170,000s to the low $200,000s.
Villini at Glen Kernan offered two single-family home models for the Realtors to check out. This community offers 52 homes starting in the upper $600,000s.
The tour ended at Waterleaf, which featured Richmond American Homes’ Stirling model and Engle Homes’ Kingston model. There are six spec homes left of the Stirling model and 12 spec homes remaining of the Kingston. Both models start in the $400,000s.
