The Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers has made two charitable contributions to support those in the industry who are in need.
Recently FAMB donated $24,100 to the National Association of Mortgage Brokers Hurricane Relief Fund. The monies donated will be used to assist those who have been financially hurt by the recent hurricanes. People in the states of Louisiana, Texas and Florida may apply through NAMB to receive a small grant for immediate financial assistance if affected by one of the recent natural disasters.
In addition, FAMB donated through the FAMB Foundation more than $45,000 to the family of Paul Marek, a long time member of the Space Coast Chapter. Paul’s son, Russ, was critically injured in Iraq. Although three people in his unit were killed, Russ was lucky enough to survive. He is currently going through the long process of recovering from his injuries which include a leg amputation, third degrees burns and an infection which contributed to the amputation of one of his hands. Paul and his wife have been by their son’s side while he recovers in a burn unit in the United States. FAMB hopes that this monetary donation will help Paul and his family while they are going through this difficult time.
