Golder Associates Inc. has formed Golder Construction Services, a subsidiary that offers design-build services and other total project delivery solutions for clients needing construction.

Mark Swallow, a principal and former office manager of Golder’s Jacksonville office, was named president of the new subsidiary. Board members include vice presidents Chuck Lockhart in Seattle and Jeff Paul of Atlanta.

GCS allows Golder to offer streamlined, full-service project delivery all the way through the implementation or construction phases of projects. By avoiding protracted contractor procurement processes, clients can expect expedited project delivery and cost-savings. They also have access to innovative technologies and implementation strategies, such as controlled blast densification to improve soil characteristics prior to construction and nanoscale zero valent iron injection for treating contaminated groundwater.

“GCS allows us to provide full-service solutions to clients in many markets,” said GCS President Mark Swallow. “Through Golder and GCS, clients receive a professional, value-added service, continuing our trusted relationships from initial study through to the final implementation.”

Contract services provided by GCS include: Environmental remediation, landfill expansion and closure, landfill gas systems, water treatment and ground improvement.

Golder Associates Inc. is the U.S. operating company of Golder Associates, a global group of consulting companies specializing in ground engineering and environmental services. Golder Associates is employee-owned and has experienced steady growth since its formation in 1960. More than 4,500 people operate in local companies in offices across Africa, Australia, Europe, North America and South America.
