Members of the Remodelors and Nassau Builders councils have a new staff contact - Tim Denton, who joined the Northeast Florida Builders Association in May.

After just four months, Denton is becoming well acquainted with Nassau County builders and remodelers throughout the region.

“I look forward to the challenge of working with the members,” Denton said, “and I hope to provide each council and the entire association with a determined effort and dependable support.”

Executive Director Daniel Davis praised Denton’s ability to organize the two NEFBA councils.

“Tim stepped into this position and took off running,” Davis said. “He has made some excellent suggestions and his organizational abilities have been evident from the beginning. Tim’s attention to details and initiative are great assets to the organization. I’m looking forward to working with Tim for a long time.”

Denton said he has been working with J.P. McClellan, chair of the Nassau Builders Council, and Frank Rodgers, chair of the Remodelors Council, to expand the influence of each council. Both praised Denton’s efforts.

“Tim has been invaluable in his contribution to the success of our recent membership dinners and meetings,” McClellan said. “At our last dinner meeting, we had more than 60 people attend including most of the candidates running for political office here in the county. Tim’s attention to detail and his personable style are just two of his strengths. He is also a very hard worker who has gone above and beyond the call. With the Nassau Builders and Realtors charity golf tournament just around the corner, Tim has been meeting with our golf committee weekly to insure the success of our biggest fundraiser of the year. We here in Nassau County want to offer a huge ‘thank you, Tim’.”

And, the Remodelors Council is seeing the same level of effort.

“Tim’s performance has exceeded my expectations in the capacity of staff contact for the Remodelors Council,” Rodgers said. “With his enthusiasm and attention to detail, he will continue to be an asset to NEFBA and the council.”

Denton is eager to implement some of the ideas the council is considering for the upcoming awards program.

“Right now, we are looking at ways to stimulate interest in the Remodelors Council annual awards program,” Denton said. “We want to generate more publicity for entries and winners and promote our council members in the process.”

Denton said although both councils are well-established and strong, he believes some additional effort will bring in more new members and increase the enthusiasm of existing members.

“Both councils have a good base from which to start,” he said. “My focus will be to make council membership a more valuable commodity. A larger membership is just one aspect of that goal.”

Denton moved to Jacksonville from Fayetteville, N.C., when he was about six years old. The oldest of four children, Denton has three sisters.

A graduate of the University of North Florida, Denton worked as a probation officer prior to joining NEFBA. Denton and his wife Jennifer have a four-month-old daughter, Alivia, and are active with the youth ministry at Trinity Baptist Church.
