Realtors descended upon downtown Jacksonville recently for an evening on the town during the Northeast Florida Builders Association’s first-ever Moonlight SAM Tram.

The event, a field trip of sorts to Downtown’s upcoming residential communities, drew more people than could fit on the bus, leaving some Realtors carpooling.

Unlike other SAM Trams in the past, this one started at night and was condensed in time, which appealed to some.

“This is a lot different than the others,” said Angella Scott, a Realtor with Prudential Network Realty. “I like the time change better because it’s shorter in the afternoon and we can work during the day.”

Realtors were treated to food and drink at various stops and heard an introduction from Terry Lorrince, executive director of Jacksonville’s Downtown Vision organization, which promotes living and working in the city’s core.

With such a large and eager showing by Realtors, Berkman Plaza II’s Nancy Maloy was enthusiastic about future – and more frequent – tours.

“I think it’s great,” said Maloy, president and founder of Floridian Lifestyles Realty, which handles all sales and marketing for the development. “I joked with Amanda (Randolph of SMC) that they needed to come down here more often.”

After the tour, many Realtors attended one of downtown Jacksonville’s cultural events, Art Walk. Held on the first Wednesday of every month, Art Walk lets people walk through galleries at downtown businesses to see local original artwork.
