The organization: “The St. Augustine/St. Johns County Board of Realtors is a local association that is service driven for its membership. We provide support, education, guidance and facilities to our membership for the enhancement of their business.”

Her responsibilities: “My responsibilities include overseeing the overall organizational planning of the organization, promote the Realtor image, ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability towards our membership and within our membership.

How she was selected/elected: A nominating committee gathers a slate of officers for the membership to vote on. Members vote at a general membership meeting.

Meetings and what happens during them: “We have our general membership meetings on a bi-monthly basis. We inform members of all the most recent changes in the market, laws and such. We review committee events and try to bring in speakers to educate the members on current events.”

Her business: “I’m the broker/owner of two Re/Max 100 Realty offices in St. Augustine, a wife and mother. I’m the current president of the St. Augustine Junior Women’s Club, I’m involved with Pedro Menendez’s March Band boosters and the PM Model United Nations Group. I’m an avid supporter of the Local Lions Club, Children’s Miracle Network, Susan G. Komen and many other charitable groups.

Her goals for 2008: “As stated in my installation message to the members, I would like to see a more responsible, caring membership. My hope is that more members get involved with our community and achieve a higher level of education and professionalism.”

What does the organization offer its members: “The education that we provide on a local level is amazing! Our members can get all of their required continuing education right here in the comforts of their own hometown, without having to travel to get it. Along with that you still get a live person when you call in for information from our local board.”

The organization’s impact on the industry: “By being a member of this organization, we subscribe to a higher level of professionalism. This organization brings accountability to the professionalism of a Realtor.”
