The Florida Association of Realtors’ 2009 Convention & Trade Expo is set for Aug. 19-23 at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort in Orlando.

FAR’s 93rd annual convention offers real estate professionals the chance to enhance their real estate business through the best technology tools, sales and marketing techniques, business models and other industry-specific information.

Also on the agenda are the elections for future officers but that won’t affect Watson Realty’s Wendell Davis, who already has been named FAR’s 2010 president and who will take office at the end of the year.

The event gives participants the chance to glean advice from leading real estate trainers and to network with colleagues. Builders and real estate professionals with expertise in construction and development also are welcome to participate. Realtors from across the state are expected to attend the FAR convention.

Leading industry speakers – such as Kim Dickey, Bernice Ross, Sara Lamia, Stephen David, to name a few – will offer insight into current trends in the real estate market, with 45 educational sessions scheduled during the convention.

Topics include getting the most out of the latest computer technology; using social networking as a marketing tool; fundamentals of commercial real estate; health care insurance; working with international clients; and making the most of current real estate industry trends and opportunities.

Other highlights of the event include the Trade Expo, where nearly 100 real estate vendors will demonstrate the latest products and technology; and the Keynote Awards Luncheon, featuring motivational speaker Dan Thurmon.
