Florida’s existing home sales rose in July, the 11th month in a row that sales activity increased in the year-to-year comparison, according to the latest housing data released by the Florida Association of Realtors. Statewide existing home sales in July also rose over the previous month’s sales level.
• Florida existing home sales: up 37 percent with 15,882 homes sold compared to 11,595 in July 2008. The median sales price was down 24 percent at $147,600 compared to $193,800.
• Jacksonville area existing home sales: up 33 percent with 1,226 sold compared to 925. The price was down 15 percent at $156,800 compared to $184,100.
• Florida condos: up 48 percent with 5,035 units sold compared to 3,396. The price was down 36 percent at $108,300 compared to $168,700.
• Jacksonville area condos: up 45 percent with 149 sold compared to 103. The price was down 20 percent at $121,900 compared to $151,900.
