The “Holiday on the River” dance and concert series at the Landing has become one of Downtown’s annual traditions, showcasing the talents of hundreds of performers who entertain visitors to the riverfront shopping and entertainment center.

The weekday lunchtime entertainment schedule features choral groups, dancers and musicians from public and private schools who perform holiday music. Groups are also scheduled to perform most evenings.

The 17th Annual “Tuba Christmas” is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, when more than 100 players of the biggest brass will gather around the Christmas tree.

The concert and dance series continues through 6:15 p.m. Dec. 20 when students from the SDS Performing Arts Center are scheduled to be on stage.

Jacksonville’s official Christmas tree is also in the spotlight with hourly light shows starring the 78,000 LEDs synchronized to music scheduled 6-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 6 p.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday through Jan. 1. The finale is part of the Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl postgame celebration Downtown.
