Biden visits Fletcher High School

Vice President Joe Biden along with U.S. Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan met Thursday with students, teachers, parents and community members at Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach. Biden talked about post-secondary education and the options for students and he emphasized importance of earning a college degree, saying that the unemployment rate of people with a bachelor’s degree is half that of people without a degree. Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals, school board members, district staff and others attended the event. Duval County Public Schools operates 177 schools and serves about 125,000 students.
