Work beginning on Creekside Fish Camp

The City approved interior demolition Tuesday at 12760 San Jose Blvd., the site of the proposed Creekside Fish Camp by restaurateurs Ben and Liza Groshell. Bosco Building Contractors Inc. is the contractor for the $5,000 demolition project. Ben Groshell said last week the Mandarin restaurant, overlooking Julington Creek, will be the couple's fourth and could open by May or June. The Groshells operate Marker 32, Palm Valley Fish Camp and North Beach Fish Camp. Groshell said they will lease the space. The property owner is Wiley Andeu.

Big John's Crumpy's coming to Southside

The City approved a sign permit for Big John's Crumpy's Wings & Things at 4021 Southside Blvd., No. 200, the former site of the Coffee Cup Caffe. Liberty Lighting is the contractor for the wall sign at a project cost of $2,500. A Facebook page doesn't provide information about the project but refers to another restaurant at Edgewood and Broadway avenues in west Jacksonville.

Brazilian Corner opens Downtown

The City issued a business license for Brazilian Corner, operated by Bonachela Inc. at 100 E. Forsyth St. The Daily Record reported in late November that Ronaldo and Raquel Bonachela opened the restaurant at the site of the former Jax City Subs.
