How did you get involved?
When I began practicing, I worked with Lep Adams, who was involved with The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. Lep encouraged me to become involved with The Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. He impressed upon me the importance of service to your profession and through that service, giving back to your community. I took his advice and have been active in both The JBA and The Florida Bar committees and sections.
How can someone else get involved?
All lawyers in our circuit should participate in a section or on a committee of either The Jacksonville Bar Association or the Florida Bar. Through that participation, there are endless opportunities to serve our profession and community.
What have you learned/achieved through the experience?
Serving your profession and your community is not only one’s responsibility but is one of the most rewarding experiences you will have. Personally I really love the opportunity to meet other lawyers and to work with them to better our profession and give back to our community.
What was the last book you read or are reading?
“Let’s Roll!” by Lisa Beamer.
