• Glenn Banner of the Hinshaw & Culbertson Jacksonville office has been promoted to Hinshaw’s partnership in the litigation practice. Banner focuses his practice in consumer litigation, tort defense litigation and professional liability matters. He earned his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.

• The E. Robert Williams Inn of Court announced officers for the 2012-13 term. President is Alan Gordon; president-elect and counselor is Compensation Claims Judge William Ray Holley; treasurer is Tara Sa’id, secretary is Michael Rudolph and administrator is Vanessa Herbert.

• Hugh Cotney of the Law Office of Hugh Cotney has become a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit court mediator.

• The Gunster law firm announced that three of its Jacksonville attorneys — William Adams, Michael Cavendish and David Wells — were included on the 2012 Florida Trend Legal Elite list. Wells was also included in the “Hall of Fame.”

• Jacksonville-based forensic psychologist Stephen Bloomfield was awarded “psychologist of the year” by the Florida Psychological Association at its annual meeting in St. Petersburg.

• Marika Sevin has joined Tritt Rendzio as an associate attorney. Her practice will focus on construction law and business litigation. Sevin received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. She has practiced for the past three years with a St. Augustine-based law firm.
