JWLA names Woman Lawyer of the Year, new board at judicial reception

The Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association named former group President Paola Parra of Harris Guidi as its Woman Lawyer of the year.

Parra was recognized June 12 at the annual Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association Judicial Reception, which brought together attorneys and members of the judiciary at The River Club.

Before serving as president of the association, Parra helped to form the Hispanic Bar Association of Northeast Florida and served as its founding president.

Her leadership roles also have included serving as president of Rotaract of Florida's First Coast, treasurer of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers and a board member of the Junior League of Jacksonville.

After recognizing the service of outgoing JWLA President Stephanie Harriett, new President Katherine Schnauss Naugle of Naugle & Smith introduced her board for the 2012-13 term:

President-elect Kate Mesic of the Law Offices of Yekaterina Mesic; Secretary Banda deLane Crawford of Special Counsel; Treasurer Zeina Salam of the Law Offices of Zeina N. Salam; Vice President of Public Relations Alexis Brown-Gelb of Wicker Smith; Vice President of the Judicial Reception Erin Martin of Delta Settlements; and Vice President of Holiday Party Susannah Collins of The Law Office of F. Susannah Collins.
