How did you get involved?
I got involved with the law week committee for The JBA several years ago. That opportunity led to many more opportunities to serve the community.

How can someone else get involved?
Start by attending the events put on by The Jacksonville Bar Association and/or the Young Lawyers Section and get to know the members. If you hang around long enough you won’t be asked to help, you will be told a time and place to show up and help. There are always opportunities to volunteer as long as you are willing to say yes.

What have you learned/achieved through the experience?
How satisfying it can be to be a part of something positive and to be an active member of my community. It is easy to spend all of your time working and socializing around lawyers and feel isolated from the community. I think it is important to make an effort to get involved outside the legal community.

What was the last book you read or are reading?
“The Procession” by Joseph L. Moser. Available at lulu.com.
