UNF dedicates Petway Hall

Elizabeth “Betty” Petway addresses the crowd Friday at the dedication of Petway Hall at the University of North Florida as her husband, Tom, and Bruce Taylor, chair of the UNF board of trustees (far right), look on. UNF dedicated the building that houses the College of Education and Human Services as Petway Hall in honor of the contributions by the Petways to education and literacy. Tom Petway serves on the board of US Assure Insurance Services Inc. and was a co-founder of and an original minority partner in the Jacksonville Jaguars, among many other roles in business and the community. Betty Petway is the vice chair of the Petway Family Foundation and was the first woman to chair the capital campaign for Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, for which she won an EVE Award for philanthropic service in 1996.
