• The Florida Bar board of governors is seeking applicants for two vacancies on the Bar Foundation board of directors. Two attorneys are needed to serve three-year terms, commencing July 1, on the 33-member board of directors that administers the Florida Interest on Trust Accounts program. Directors will be members of the foundation during their term. Completed applications must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Dec. 14. Those interested can visit the Bar’s website, floridabar.org, or call its headquarters at (850) 561-5757 for more information.

• Attorney Dexter Van Davis is the new vice chair of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. The commission receives applications for openings in the circuit and develops a list of candidates to submit to the governor to fill a vacant seat.

• During Friday’s The Jacksonville Bar Association member luncheon, attendees approved 42 new members to join the association. The next member luncheon will be noon Nov. 12 at the Hyatt Downtown with a Patriots Day theme. Retired Staff Sgt. Dan Nevins, director of the Warriors Speak program for Wounded Warriors, is the speaker. Doors open at 11:45 a.m.
