Not much has physically changed about Carla Miller’s office since she was hired by former Mayor John Peyton in 2007 as the City’s ethics director, but the responsibilities of the office have been a work in progress.

Miller, who was selected by the Ethics Commission to be the new Office of Ethics, Compliance and Oversight director, has enjoyed the accessibility of City Hall’s fourth floor.

“If anyone wants to talk or an issue ever comes up they can call me or I can walk over to their office,” said Miller, who is located on the same floor as offices of the City Council, general counsel and mayor.

Council approved the creation of the Office of Ethics, Compliance and Oversight June 14, 2011, to replace the City’s Ethics Office.
