• Jenna Strom recently joined the Jacksonville office of Boyd & Jenerette as an associate and will be a part of the firm’s civil litigation practice group. Her practice primarily focuses on products liability, premises liability, personal injury and wrongful death litigation.

• Akerman Senterfitt shareholder Jay Brown recently rose to chair of The Florida Bar’s Business Law Section’s Bankruptcy/Uniform Commercial Code committee and will serve in the role through June 2013. The committee consists of lawyers who practice commercial law and specialize in bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and secured transactions.

• Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin shareholder Tom Roberts recently presented a seminar, “Rediscovering Construction Law in Florida: Key Issues and Trends as the Industry Begins to Recover,” in Orlando. His focus for the presentation was “Representing the Design Professional.” His practice focuses on defense of errors and omissions claims against architects, engineers and surveyors.

• Several attorneys from the Jacksonville office of Foley & Lardner were recognized in the 2013 edition of “The Best Lawyers in America” guide, which is based on peer review. The local selections are: Adam Adams III, Robert Bernstein, David Cook, Gardner Davis, Charles Hedrick, Kevin Hyde, Chauncey Lever, Emerson Lotzia, Scott Richburg and John Tucker.

• Fowler White Boggs also placed several attorneys in the 2013 publication. They are: Thomas Dearing, Karl Hanson, Eric Holshouser, James Porter, Robert Riegel, Timothy Strong and Jeffrey Watson.
