Baptist Health announced Monday that Pierre Allaire, a vice president at the University of North Florida, will join the health system March 25 as vice president and chief development officer.

Allaire will assume executive leadership of the Baptist Health Foundation, which supports programs and services of the Northeast Florida-based, not-for-profit Baptist Health system. Baptist Health Foundation raised almost $12 million during fiscal 2012.

Since 1995, Allaire has served as vice president for Institutional Advancement and executive director of the UNF Foundation. UNF is concluding a multiyear capital campaign exceeding its $110 million goal.

"Pierre is an incredible cultural fit with Baptist Health and exemplifies the leadership qualities that are so critical for this position," Baptist Health CEO Hugh Greene said in a news release.

Among his civic roles, Allaire will serve as president of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville beginning in July 2014.
