The 41st annual edition of a Downtown spring tradition will open today at the Osborn Center when the first guests arrive for Jacksonville's Home and Patio Show.
More than 500 exhibitors were setting up booths and displays Wednesday. The entrance to this year's spring show will have a new look after being transformed into a landscaped country garden that includes live chickens.
Each year, the show offers a look at the latest home improvement and decorating products along with remodeling ideas and instructional presentations.
Two of TV's most well-known home-decorating celebrities are scheduled for this year's show. Ty Pennington, star of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," will be onstage at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday. The host of DIY cable television network's "Desperate Landscapes" and "Man Caves," Jason Cameron, will present at 5 p.m. Friday, noon and 6 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.
Outdoor dining also has been added this year, with a food-truck rally Sunday. Seven local mobile cuisine vendors are scheduled to set up shop in the convention center courtyard.
The Jacksonville Home and Patio Show is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. today and Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
