The annual Veterans Day Parade route changed this year, but the turnout was as strong as ever.

Thousands lined Downtown's streets to watch the parade that drew more than 4,000 participants, including grand marshals, senior military officials, active-duty and retired military, veterans groups, marching bands, high school JROTC programs and more.

This year's route started at EverBank Field, made its way down Bay Street to Newnan Street to Independent Drive and finished at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.

Grand marshals for the event were Harold Davis, Jacksonville's oldest veteran and a retired Marine; veteran John Connelly; and Mayor Alvin Brown.
