3 concept designs for Downtown Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority showed off three concepts for its planned Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center slated for Downtown.

The projects were pitched and community feedback solicited during an open house Monday.

The firms making the case for their designs were KBJ Architects, Pond-Michael Baker and Via Concepts.

The authority board later this month will pick the winning firm, with the final design refined after community input.

Design of the center’s Intercity Bus Facility is expected by the end of the year and construction to be completed — including the Greyhound terminal — by January 2018. The rest of the project will be finished by September 2019.
