Lucky's Market hiring for Neptune Beach store

Lucky’s Market is hiring for its new Neptune Beach store.

The market is posting jobs for full- and part-time employees, offering health and dental, life insurance, employee discounts, a 401(k) and paid volunteer time.

Candidates can apply at It shows 57 job titles available. The market is at 580 Atlantic Blvd.

A “We’re Hiring” ad published Sunday says available jobs include assistant store director; office manager; and department managers, supervisors and members.

For example, there are job titles that include beer & wine manager, meat cutter, apothecary team member, grocery manager, cheese team member and scanning coordinator.

The store is expected to open in early December, according to leasing agent Nancy Sumner with The Shopping Center Group LLC.

Lucky’s Market, based near Boulder, Colo., is a specialty grocery store chain founded in 2003 and focused on natural, organic and locally grown products.

In April, The Kroger Co. announced a strategic partnership with Lucky’s to accelerate its growth in new and existing markets.

As of that investment, Lucky’s Market and its affiliates employed more than 1,800 associates and operated 17 stores in 13 states in the Midwest and Southeast.

Its website shows three Florida stores in Coral Springs, Gainesville and Naples along with three coming soon in Neptune Beach, Plantation and Tallahassee.

Lucky’s says its layout resembles an indoor farmers market, with “garage door” entrances, field bins, barrels and wooden crates.

It says its culinary department showcases restaurant-quality prepared foods made from recipes that include those developed by CEO and former chef Bo Sharon and his wife, Trish.

The Neptune Beach store is going into the space in Neptune Beach Plaza formerly used by Proctor Ace Hardware, which relocated to a larger store nearby in Penman Plaza.

A site plan by The Shopping Center Group shows Lucky’s will lease 30,012 square feet of space in Neptune Beach Plaza.

Interstate 295 ramp work pending for

Associated with the large fulfillment center under development in North Jacksonville, the St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing modifications to the Interstate 295 exit ramp to Duval Road.

The Florida Department of Transportation is the applicant and landowner. Matthews Design Group of St. Augustine is the engineering consultant.

The construction is designed to accommodate traffic generated by the multilevel 2.4 million-square-foot fulfillment center is developing at northwest I-295 and Duval Road/International Airport Boulevard.

The center will create 1,500 full-time jobs and more seasonal positions. It is expected to open in time for the 2017 holiday season.

Alliance Realty to repair Southbank bulkhead

Alliance Realty Partners LLC will repair and replace the existing marine bulkhead at the Southbank site it is developing with 263 apartments called Broadstone River House.

The city issued a permit Monday for the $491,510 project by Baker Klein Engineering.

A St. Johns River Water Management District application shows Alliance Realty Partners wants to install a new steel sheet pile bulkhead within a foot of the existing seawall on the seaward side.

All construction will be done from the upland side.

Broadstone River House is under development at 1655 Prudential Drive, fronting the St. Johns River. Completion is expected in 2018.

The apartment project is designed as two buildings and a parking deck. There will be sidewalks on the east and west sides of the structure to provide public access to the Southbank Riverwalk and the proposed riverfront pedestrian plaza.

Plans for the marine bulkhead and elevated walkways show two elevated concrete walkways on either side of the property to the Riverwalk.

Alliance Realty Partners is part of Phoenix-based Alliance Residential Co.

Alliance Residential Development Manager Tim Graff said in March rents will range from about $1,100 to $2,200 a month for the 21 studio, 138 one-bedroom, 94 two-bedroom and 10 three-bedroom apartments.

Water Management District actions

The St. Johns River Water Management District intends to grant permits for:

• A 191,360-square-foot warehouse on 12.38 acres in what was known as the Liberty/Imeson Commercial Park. Owners of the Westside Industrial Park bought the undeveloped Imeson Road park last year and want to develop the structure. Pattillo Industrial Real Estate said in June it would be a $10 million speculative multitenant warehouse.

• Roadway improvements at Town Center and Gate parkways for PGP Jacksonville TC LLC, which is developing The Strand and The Crossing at Town Center. It’s a 6.4-acre project.

• PDQ at Town Center, a 3,312-square-foot building at 4816 Gate Parkway. H-Squared Partners LLC of Tampa owns the restaurant, which sells chicken tenders, sandwiches and salads.

Woodsman Kitchens center approved

The city approved the permit for the owner of Woodsman Kitchens and Floors to build a $2.7 million office-warehouse center near its 11732 Beach Blvd. showroom.

New Vision Properties Inc., led by Woodsman Kitchens and Floors President Rick Woods, will build a 45,000-square-foot center on 3.5 acres at 3621 Beachwood Court, according to the construction permit application.

The building would include 2,800 square feet of office space.

New Vision bought the Beachwood Court site in May. Woods said previously construction should start by mid-October for completion by mid-April.

Live Oak Contracting LLC is the contractor. Kurt Jensen Architect is the architect.

Food notes

• Walmart’s new online order and pickup service will be available at its 8808 Beach Blvd. store, according to a sign permit for a banner. The service launched in Jacksonville in July at Walmart stores in the Regency area, at 899 Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park and in Middleburg. Walmart said the Beach Boulevard store, near Southside Boulevard, will go live with the service Nov. 7 as will the store at 1505 County Road 220 in Orange Park. Customers can place orders now for pickup that day.

• Ephesus Mediterranean Grill, selling pizza, grilled foods and Mediterranean cuisine, applied to the city for a certificate of use to open at 9527 Regency Square Blvd., No. 108.

• Planet Smoothie is planned at the Shoppes at Flagler Center at 14866 Old St. Augustine Road.

• Town Hall, the restaurant replacing The Grotto in San Marco, was approved for a $325,482 renovation. The city issued the permit for the 2,017-square-foot location at 2012 San Marco Blvd.  Moxie Kitchen Cocktails operator Tom Gray is a partner in the new venture.
