City Director of Public Affairs Nikki Kimbleton is leaving Mayor Lenny Curry’s administration after nearly four years in the office, effective Jan. 13.

“It’s been an honor to have Nikki as part of my administration. Her dedication to serving the citizens of Jacksonville is second to none and she managed every aspect of this role with skill and grace,” Curry said in a Dec. 29 news release.

“I am confident of her continued success as she moves on to new and exciting endeavors. It’s been a pleasure to serve with Nikki and she will be greatly missed,” he said.

Kimbleton took over as director of public affairs in April 2019. She and her family are relocating to the Denver area in January, according to the release.

Curry chose Katharine Wiles, assistant director of public affairs, to fill Kimbleton’s position.

Wiles started with the city in October 2021. Before joining the mayor’s office, she worked for more than 10 years on local, state and national elections, as well as public policy and government affairs initiatives with nonprofits and hospital networks.

Wiles will continue to work with Chief Administrative Officer Brian Hughes, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Charles Moreland and Chief of Staff Leeann Krieg.
