Community Partner of the Year: The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship

The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship North Florida Operations in Jacksonville was honored as the 2022 North Florida District Community Partner of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The North Florida branch was created in 2016 as part of the Jim Moran Institute at Florida State University in Tallahassee. The Jim Moran Institute was created in 1995.

It was founded by Jim and Jan Moran and JM Family Enterprises, which includes Southeast Toyota Distributors LLC. 

After the establishment of the institute, JM Family Enterprises made a $100 million gift to Florida State University in 2015.

Its mission is to work with established businesses to train and inspire entrepreneurs. It works with local resources to advance businesses at little or no cost.

It offers a small business and nonprofit executive program, CEO peer groups, leadership conferences and entrepreneurship boot camps.

To participate, a small business must be established for at least three years with three or more employees.

The institute also created the Seminole 100 for FSU alumni entrepreneurs. Its goal is to recognize growing small businesses and provide networking and media opportunities.
