Jacksonville-based internet service provider IQ Fiber announced Sept. 15 it is investing an estimated $45 million to expand its service and will enter the Clay County market.

IQ Fiber said in a news release it will bring its service to Jacksonville Beach, Beauclerc, Mandarin, Orange Park and Fleming Island.

It said design and engineering work for the expansion is complete and construction will begin over the next several weeks.

Its network is capable of speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second.

In August, IQ Fiber launched the first portion of its fiber-to-home service in San Jose Forest, which is south of Lakewood and San Marco.

The company said its San Jose and Atlantic Beach networks will be coming online in multiple phases over the next several months.

IQ Fiber said it has 50 employees in Northeast Florida.

Service prices on the IQ Fiber website are $65 to $85 a month, based on internet speed.
