The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing a permit application for McDonald’s USA LLC to raze and rebuild its 42-year-old restaurant on 1.37 acres at 7245 Merrill Road in Arlington. A new McDonald’s and parking will be built there.

The city is reviewing a permit for construction of the new 4,598-square-foot McDonald’s restaurant at an estimated cost of $1.24 million at the Merrill Road and Townsend Boulevard site.

McDonald’s USA LLC is the developer and Integrity Engineering & Development Services Inc. of Dacula, Georgia, is the civil engineer. The city also is reviewing civil engineering plans.

“The proposed development consists of a scrape and rebuild of an existing McDonald’s replacing it with a new modernized standalone restaurant,” says an introduction filed with the plans.

Property records show McDonald’s Restaurants of Florida Inc. of Jacksonville owns the existing 3,283-square-foot building, which was developed in 1981.
