The Jacksonville City Council voted Oct. 11 to allow historic Ford assembly plant property owner Amkin Hill Street LLC to demolish the landmark for a possible maritime industrial redevelopment project.
Council also approved an amendment by member Danny Becton requiring Amkin to perform photographic and video documentation of the plant before it is demolished.

Society CEO Alan Bliss said the photographic documentation was performed by Mark Krancer and Ennis Davis.
Bliss said the documentation would be archived physically and online with the society and the city’s Division of Historic Preservation Planning.
