Five Below intends to open in Southside Commons in Arlington.

The city is reviewing a permit application for Five Below to build-out almost 15,000 square feet of space at 651 Commerce Center Drive, No. 600, at an estimated cost of $500,000.

The store is next to Ross Dress For Less, which is adjacent to the Michaels arts and crafts store.

No contractor is identified.

Barr Architecture Inc. of Davie is the architect.

As of March 1, Philadelphia-based Five Below Inc. had more than 1,340 stores in 43 states, including eight in Northeast Florida.

It calls itself “the trend-right, high-quality, extreme-value retailer for tweens, teens and beyond.”

The logo says it sells “cool stuff” at “$1 to $5 & beyond.”

The Southside Commons shopping center, at southeast Southside Connector and Tredinick Parkway, is anchored by The Church of Eleven22 and Planet Fitness.

The location is north of Regency Square Mall.
