A new Wawa convenience store is scheduled to open April 30 in Jacksonville.
The shop at 12654 Pecan Park Road, east of the Amazon Fulfillment Center, will be the 27th Wawa opened in 2026, an April 24 news release said.
The company set a goal of opening nearly 100 stores in 14 states this year.
“Our ongoing growth and expansion allow us to invest in and provide meaningful support to more communities and create new jobs and opportunities for our associates to soar in their careers,” Wawa President Brian Schaller said in the release.
The city of Jacksonville issued permits in May 2025 for Wawa to build the gas station and convenience store.
A.T. Construction Management Inc. of Seminole was listed as the contractor for the project, comprising a 6,119-square-foot building, a 6,090-square-foot canopy over the fueling stations and a dumpster enclosure at 12654 Pecan Park Road.
Job costs totaled $1.075 million on the permits.
The grand opening is scheduled to begin at 7:55 a.m. with a countdown to the doors opening at 8 a.m. The first 100 customers will receive a free “Wawa Grand Opening Tour in the USA” T-shirt. Any size coffee will be free through May 3, according to the release.
Wawa stores are in Florida, Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C., with more than 1,190 locations.
Wawa Inc., a privately held company, began in 1803 in New Jersey as an iron foundry. The first Wawa convenience store opened in 1964 in Folsom, Pennsylvania.
