A property housing a corporately operated but leased Verizon store at St. Johns Town Center has changed hands for $3.4 million.
According to a deed recorded by the Duval County Clerk of the Courts, Jacksonville-based NPRO Solutions LLC closed on the property at 4948 Big Island Drive on July 31.
A pair of 2014 permits issued for the approximately 4,000-square-foot standalone building show the shell and build-out costs were about $580,000.
The seller was 4948 Big Island Drive LLC, which shares an address with a Hinshaw & Culbertson law office in Fort Lauderdale.
According to Verizon’s website, in addition to the Town Center store the company leases two other Jacksonville corporate-store locations: 14031 Hubble Drive at River City Marketplace on the Northside and 13534 Beach Blvd., Suite 1, at Hodges Point Plaza on the Southside.
While the carrier operates corporate stores, others are managed by independent authorized retailers such as Cellular Sales, Victra and Wireless Zone.
These independently owned businesses use Verizon’s proprietary systems to provide the same account and billing services.
Stores operating under that structure are scattered throughout Jacksonville, but the specific authorized retailers are not identified by name.
