A four-story hotel is planned adjacent to The Village at Seven Pines shopping center, according to city of Jacksonville and St. Johns River Water Management District records.
A minor modification request application to the SJRWMD says that owner Jacksonville Hotels II LLC seeks to construct a four-story hotel, along with parking, utilities and associated infrastructure. The hotel site is along Buckfield Circle, south of the shopping center and north of residential development in Seven Pines.
The Publix-anchored shopping center is at southeast Butler Boulevard and Interstate 295. Jacksonville-based Regency Centers is developing the project.
According to the Florida Division of Corporations, Jacksonville Hotels II is managed by Spartanburg, South Carolina-based Palmetto Hospitality GM LLC.
Communication from the city’s Planning Department to Kim Brown of England-Thims & Miller, the engineering consultant associated with the project, said the department approved the proposed change to the Planned Unit Development approved in 2019 that governs the property.
A PUD allows uses, regulations and standards tailored to a property.
That communication, which noted that approval did not extend to site design, identified the hotel as being developed with 143 units. A site plan attached to a sale agreement for the property shows the hotel, which includes a pool, surrounded by 142 parking spaces.
The property was sold by Oto Development LLC to Sawmill Timber LLC in March 2026.
A brand for the hotel was not identified in public records, and a possible mention of the hotel brand planned for the project was redacted in the sale agreement between Oto Development and Sawmill Timber.
The shopping center is the retail component of Seven Pines, a roughly 1,000-acre master-planned community that is also slated for about 1,600 single-family homes, apartments and more than 1 million square feet of commercial and retail space. Regency, founded in Jacksonville in 1963, plans to relocate its headquarters from Downtown to the development.
