Ruby Tuesday closes in Arlington’s Regency area

Commercial real estate firm Petra has listed the 24-year-old Monument Road restaurant property for sale at $3.16 million.

Ruby Tuesday in the Regency area has closed, leaving at least four remaining area locations of the chain.

It directs customers to three remaining area locations, comprising two in Jacksonville at 4874 Windsor Commons Court near Hodges and Butler boulevards and at 1360 Airport Road near Jacksonville International Airport; and one in Orange Park at 1521 County Road 220 in Eagle Harbor.

Ruby Tuesday also has a St. Augustine restaurant at 2443 Florida 16.

The 5,495-square-foot Regency area restaurant was developed in 2002 on 1.213 acres.

Ruby Tuesday Inc. sold the site in December 2011 for $2.3 million to Schiff Enterprises of Northfield, New Jersey.

Schiff Enterprises sold it in February 2015 for $2.59 million to The S&A Realty Trust of Estero.

It says the property was renovated in 2016.

The marketing brochure describes it as “an incredible opportunity to acquire a turn-key restaurant in trophy condition in Jacksonville, FL. This restaurant’s lease expires December 2026.”

It says the property offers the flexibility to capture a new tenant or pursue redevelopment.

The brochure describes the site along Monument Road  as being “surrounded by a strong lineup of national credit retailers including Walmart, Target, Regions Bank, Courtyard (Marriott), The Home Depot, and Ross Dress for Less, driving consistent daily traffic to the immediate trade area.”

The restaurant is between a Gate convenience store and Cantina Louie restaurant and in front of a Hampton Inn & Suites. It is north of Regency Square Mall, now rebranded The Nexus at Regency.

The casual dining chain is based in Maryville, Tennessee, near Knoxville.

The rubytuesday.com site says its menu features, among other items, its “Endless Garden Bar,” ribs and burgers.

“It all started with the idea of fresh food in 1972 near the campus of the University of Tennessee, and 50 years later we’re still here to greet you with gracious smiles and genuine hospitality,” the site says.

Yahoo.com says that as of October 2025, there were 209 Ruby Tuesday locations, primarily in the Eastern and Southeastern U.S. with most in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.

Ruby Tuesday filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in October 2020 and emerged in February 2021.

Ruby Tuesday closed 185 stores due to the pandemic, reported trade site NRN.com.

Through the years, Ruby Tuesday has operated other area restaurants, including at The Avenues mall, where it closed in 2020. and in the Jacksonville Landing Downtown, where it closed in 2004.
