• Looking to take a break last week, Circuit Judge Mark Mahon was headed to the elevator on the seventh floor of the new Duval County Courthouse when he met up with two Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office deputies who needed warrants signed. He sat down in the hallway and signed the warrants, but before he could stand up he did the same for five more officers who had learned of the impromptu office.“Some deputies are unfamiliar with the layout of the new courthouse, so it may be hard for them to find a judge when they need a warrant signed. I was happy to help,” said Mahon.
