• Attorney Daniel Bean, a Navy veteran and past president of The Jacksonville Bar Association, has been elected president of the Jacksonville Historic Naval Ship Association. Also elected were Joe Snowberger, re-elected vice president; Mary Crawford, treasurer; and Jim Aldrich, secretary. John O’Neil is executive director. The organization wants to bring the retired guided missile destroyer USS Charles F. Adams back to Jacksonville as an interactive attraction downtown on the Southbank of the St. Johns River adjacent to the Acosta Bridge.
