The Jacksonville Jaguars will begin a series of town hall meetings June 15 about its $441 million plan to develop the Downtown Shipyards and a football performance center.

Team leadership emailed City Council members last week with a 14-meeting agenda across Northeast Florida in Duval, Nassau, Clay and St. Johns counties.

According to a draft term sheet from the Downtown Investment Authority, Jaguars owner Shad Khan likely will ask the city for $93.58 million in tax incentives for a Four Season Hotel and Residences, an office building and marina facilities on the former Kids Kampus and Shipyards properties along the St. Johns River near TIAA Bank Field.

Khan and Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer also want the city to enter a 50-50 public-private partnership for the estimated $120 million performance center, a football practice and training facility that Jaguars President Mark Lamping says is the first step toward a full stadium renovation.

The Jaguars’ lease on the city-owned stadium ends 2030.

The Jaguars are partnering with Baptist Health for an orthopedic sports medicine campus for phase two of its Shipyards proposal to the west of the proposed Four Seasons.

A final proposal will need approvals from the DIA board and Council before the Jaguars can begin construction.
