Perdue adds Melbourne company to build further into workplace environments

The Jacksonville-based commercial interiors firm announced it bought American Business Interiors.

Perdue Inc., a commercial interiors firm owned by Jacksonville-based The Suddath Cos., announced July 1 it has acquired American Business Interiors, a Florida-based firm founded in 1969 that also is a commercial interiors firm.

Perdue said the acquisition advances its mission to deliver workplace, healthcare and education environments through a single partner.

“As organizations rethink workplace, education and healthcare environments, the physical environment has never been more important,” said Perdue President Rob Lau in the release.

“With ABI, we’re enhancing our ability to deliver seamless, start-to-finish solutions for our clients.”

Both firms and the combined organization offer market services from strategy and design to furnishings, architectural solutions, project delivery and ongoing support.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The news release said Melbourne-based ABI’s presence on Florida’s Space Coast expands Perdue’s geographic reach into one of the state’s fastest-growing markets and industries such as aerospace, defense and healthcare.

The release said Perdue Office Interiors serves clients nationally.

American Business Interiors has relationships with leading manufacturers, including Steelcase.
