Since the pandemic, the pro bono department at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid has been limited in what clinics we could offer, but we are bringing in-person clinics and events back to the community.

While many of our clinics continued thanks to Zoom, most in-person clinics have been on hiatus.

Technology is helpful in engaging the community, but one-on-one clinics and events are vital to our mission to assist those in need.

The Pro Bono Unit will conduct its first post-pandemic Ask-A-Lawyer event from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 19 at Florida State College at Jacksonville. The clinic is in rooms T140 and T141 at the FSCJ Downtown Campus.

At the clinic, licensed volunteer attorneys will be available to answer questions in areas of the law including family law, real estate, landlord/tenant, criminal law, wills and estates, probate, disability and contracts.

This is a free clinic open to the public. The volunteer attorneys will not be accepting cases, but will provide brief advice regarding particular legal needs.

Visit jaxlegalaid.org or email [email protected] for more information regarding this clinic and other community events or if you’re interested in volunteering for this event or future clinics.
