Sprouts Farmers Market is hiring 110 employees for its Tamaya store

The Phoenix-based chain intends to open April 29.

Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. is hiring about 110 full- and part-time employees for its Tamaya Market store, its second Jacksonville location.

The more than 30,000-square-foot store will open at 7 a.m. April 29 at 12675 Beach Blvd.

Sprouts, based in Phoenix, said it will hire department managers, assistant managers and clerks in produce, vitamins and body care, meat and seafood, deli, grocery, bakery and more.

It also is hiring cashiers, courtesy clerks, backup receiver, administrative coordinator and scan coordinator.

Sprouts is considered a healthy grocer that focuses on fresh, natural and organic products. Two competitive chains – Earth Fare and Lucky’s Market – recently closed their five Northeast Florida stores.

Sprouts employs more than 30,000 people and operates more than 340 stores in 23 states.

The first Sprouts in Jacksonville opened July 10 at The Markets at Town Center in the former Best Buy store at 4893 Town Center Parkway.
