Skinner Bros. Realty Co. spent the year scooping up four contiguous estate lots on the St. Johns River that it has now sold for a 21-home subdivision. The company will stay on as the project's developer.

The Bluffs at Plummers Cove will be built on a 9.42-acre parcel in Mandarin on Scott Mill Road about 300 feet north of the Interstate 295 overpass, according to documents filed with the St. Johns River Water Management District.

A deed recorded Thursday shows Skinner Bros. sold the property to national homebuilder elacora for $3,455,900.

Elacora, headed in Jacksonville by general contractor Lee Arsenault of New Leaf Homes, will be the community’s builder. The company is also building homes at Madeira in St. Augustine and The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Beach.

Skinner Bros., traditionally known for commercial and land development, entered residential real estate when Chet Skinner, son of founder A.C.“Chip” Skinner, joined the company a few years ago.

Since then, it has developed the Northside boutique subdivisions of Oak Bluff Estates on Yellow Bluff Road and Alta Vista on Dunn Creek.
