The Aerosoles women’s shoe store at St. Johns Town Center is closing.

CEO Shawn Neville said Tuesday that the company constantly assesses and adjusts its distribution strategy.

“Aerosoles is closing select underperforming stores while accelerating investments in our fast growing e-commerce, wholesale and international business,” Neville said in an emailed statement from the company’s public relations firm.

Customers were emailed Friday that the location at 4712 River City Drive will close. The email said there is a buy one, get one half off sale, as well as up to 70 percent off storewide.

A store clerk said Friday evening the store would close by Jan. 25.

Aerosoles has an outlet store at the St. Augustine Premium Outlets.

The Edison, N.J.-based company sells shoes, handbags and accessories. It has more than 100 stores and outlets in the U.S. The brand also is sold in department stores and specialty retailer locations.

It sells shoes in stores in more than 15 countries.

Also this week, the Pier 1 Imports store in the Regency area emailed customers it will close. A spokeswoman said it would close in late February.
