Palmetto Moon, a Charleston, South Carolina-based Southern lifestyle retail chain, announced the company has begun construction on a store in The Markets at Town Center at 4880 Big Island Drive.

The store is slated to open March 16 and will be the second in Florida. It also operates in Tanger Outlets in Daytona Beach.

Palmetto Moon said it has three stores under construction in the Southeast. In addition to Jacksonville, it is building in Dawsonville, Georgia, and Charlotte, North Carolina.

The three are projected to open between February and March. Palmetto Moon operates 15 stores in four Southern states.

The 6,500-square-foot Jacksonville store will feature clothing, footwear, accessories, décor and gifts that reflect life in the South.

Like other Palmetto Moon locations, it will offer brands that include Vineyard Vines, Simply Southern, Yeti, Costa, Southern Marsh, Fish Hippie and more.

It also sells products that are tailored to the state and local community, which in Jacksonville will include sports and tailgating gear for Florida State University and the University of Florida.
