Sur La Table is cleared to build-out at St. Johns Town Center.

The city issued a permit Monday for Retail Construction Services Inc. to improve 5,049 square feet of space in the former Williams-Sonoma store for Sur La Table at a cost of $717,165.

The address is 4712 River City Drive, No. 109.

St. Johns Town Center landlord Simon announced in April that Sur La Table will open this fall.

“It was a natural fit, as the brand combines one-of-a-kind, culinary retail offerings with the experiential cooking classes that members of the Jacksonville community can enjoy amongst family and friends,” General Manager Valerie Beaubrun said in a news release.

Sur La Table offers hands-on cooking classes and sells cookware, kitchen electrics, tools, gadgets and tableware.

Founded in Seattle’s Pike Place Market, Sur La Table has expanded to more than 130 stores across the U.S.

Warby Parker, a fashion eyeglass retailer, is leasing the rest of the Williams-Sonoma space. Horizon Retail Construction is building out its 1,460-square-foot space at $229,910.
