The city calculated a mobility fee of $630,815 for the Cinemark Villages of Kernan West in the Atlantic North shopping center at northwest Kernan and Atlantic boulevards.
The application shows a 1,348-seat, 14-screen, 55,428-square-foot theater on 12.3 acres. Cinemark Holdings Inc. announced in March it will open the 14-screen movie theater in summer 2020.
The city issued a permit for a $260,781 interior remodeling at the 20-screen Cinemark Tinseltown at 4535 Southside Blvd. to convert Auditorium 20 to XD.
The work includes installation of a new screen and stage; side and rear walls finish update; minor seat modifications; and more upgrades A.R. Mays Construction Inc. is the contractor.
XD is extreme digital cinema.
