The city issued a permit Aug. 6 for the Another Broken Egg Cafe in Atlantic North in East Arlington.

Advanced Building Specialties of Mississippi Inc. is the contractor for the $557,353 project to build-out 3,300 square feet of space at 11949 Atlantic Blvd., No. 105.

The Atlantic North shopping center is at northwest Kernan and Atlantic boulevards.

The name — Another Broken Egg Cafe — was the identity the chain took when it opened its second restaurant and began to expand. The Broken Egg Cafe opened in 1996 in Old Mandeville, Louisiana.

Sleiman Enterprises owns Atlantic North. The landlord’s website shows the restaurant at the end of a multitenant building where Fancy Sushi and Verizon Wireless lease space.

The shopping center is anchored by Belk, LA Fitness and Academy Sports + Outdoors.

Another Broken Egg Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and brunch. The first three in the area opened in Jacksonville at 4828 Deer Lake Drive W. in Tapestry Park and at 1012 Margaret St. in Riverside, and in Jacksonville Beach at 2230 S. Third St.

The units are owned by franchisees.

The Atlantic North, Tapestry Park and Beach stores are owned and operated by Another Broken Egg of America Franchising LLC.

The Riverside unit is owned and operated by Mandarin ABE, JC Buckner Holdings LLC.
