TownePlace Suites, Tru by Hilton planned near airport

The two five-story hotels would bring 209 rooms to Airport Road.

The city is reviewing permit applications for two hotels, totaling 209 rooms and $16 million, along Airport Road near Jacksonville International Airport.

Applications are filed for TownePlace Suites by Marriott at 1287 Airport Road and Tru by Hilton at 1265 Airport Road.

Dix Construction Inc. of Flagler Beach is shown as the contractor.

TownPlace is a five-story, 102-room project at a cost of $8.39 million.

Tru by Hilton is a five-story, 105-room project at $7.68 million.

Both have pools.

Inn of Jax LLC, the developer, bought the 4.03-acre property in July 2019 for $2.85 million for the two hotels.

The site contained a closed Wendy’s restaurant.
