The city is reviewing a permit application for 7-Eleven to build a gas station and convenience store at 10560 Old St. Augustine Road.

The 3,454-square-foot store is planned on 0.91 acres in front of the Crossroads at Mandarin shopping center.

A closed Bank of America branch office would be demolished. No contractor is listed.

Gate at Belfort

The city approved a permit for Auld & White Constructors LLC to remodel and enlarge the Gate Petroleum Co. gas station and convenience store at 4120 Belfort Road at a cost of $2.7 million.

Plans show the 5,050-square-foot building will be expanded to 6,311 square feet.

The city issued a permit Nov. 8 for Auld & White to demolish the on-site car wash at $15,000. It will not be rebuilt.

Dollar General to Normandy

The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing an application for what appears to be Dollar General at 10740 Normandy Blvd. in West Jacksonville.

Gainesville-based Concept Development Inc., which develops Dollar General stores, wants to build a 9,100-square-foot commercial retail store on 2 acres.

Vector Civil Engineering LLC of Gainesville is the civil engineer.

The site is on the south side of Normandy Boulevard and west of Fox Creek Drive.

The vacant site is 1.5 miles northeast of Cecil Commerce Parkway.
