Prime Realty Founder and CEO Tyler Saldutti is the new owner of The Glass Factory building and event venue.

Saldutti paid $620,000 for the 24,000-square-foot building at 601 Myrtle Ave. through Glass Factory Jax LLC.

Saldutti, in a private purchase not related to Prime Realty, bought the building from Engine 15 Brewing Co. owner Luciano Scremin. Scremin still owns the Engine 15 building at 633 Myrtle Ave.

Not much will change with the business or the building, said Lauryn Howell, the venue’s business manager. Saldutti hired Howell in January to run the business full time.

“As far as the building goes, we’re not really doing anything to it,” Howell said. “Aesthetically it’s kind of perfect as what it is. Everyone loves it, the charm, it’s historic, it’s beautiful.”

Saldutti plans on adding air conditioning and heating so the building can be used year-round.

As a result, rental prices will increase slightly to account for the extra cost of cooling or heating the building. Howell said she would also introduce seasonal pricing.

Engine 15 and The Glass Factory aren’t connected, but have a strong business relationship, Howell said. She encourages those who rent the space to consider the brewery as their beer provider.

Howell said in recent months, more expos and markets have been interested in renting the space. Weddings and parties are other popular uses of the building.

The Glass Factory is in The Rail Yard District.
